Michael DavidCo-Owner
Michael earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) at Cal State Fullerton where he took a foundation in computer programming and a love of art and turned it into a passion for design. In college he published mini-zines for fun and profit for surf shops and other interests, which led to an early career with a publishing and magazine firm. He later focused on real estate marketing and came to the design firm when Melody brought him in. Later they founded Graphics and Designs Plus together in 2010. Michael has always managed both layout / design and website development in every position he’s held, finding the two complement his skill set and reflect his interest in both the analytical (computer programming) and the skill of a technically trained artist. “There is beauty in the white space,” is a motto of Michael’s. He believes that good design achieves business goals and presents information in the right way to best be received and appreciated by the consumer.
Melody MayCo-Owner
After studying Communications & Graphics Design at Chico State, at 21 Melody earned a certificate in computer electronics and began a career that paired design and computer skills. In her first position as a computer technician she became Operations Manager. Along with managing the computer network she redesigned all the forms and brochures. She expanded her work to the real estate advertisers next door and thus started a career in design. She moved to the Polynesian Cultural Center’s design and imaging team, assisting in the computer software design for Fantasy Photos, which used green screens, templates and overlays to create photos of visitors with twirling fire and other exotic fantasies from the Polynesian Cultural Center’s shows. She later designed a line of jewelry for the USS Missouri using 3D rendering software and milled wax forms. Melody then served as assistant graphic designer at a real estate design studio, where she later became design manager. She and Michael David started Graphics and Designs Plus in 2010.
Victoria GarzaGraphic Designer
Victoria obtained a degree in Public Health and while working in the health field she found herself learning Photoshop for a company project. Realizing editing photos was her favorite part of her day, she decided to change fields and got her start in Graphic Design with our company! She learned design skills and programs while working on the job and continues to expand her learning in the field. Currently she is teaching herself coding to venture into web development and design. On her free time, Victoria enjoys reading, going for drives, finding beautiful views, and rollerskating.
Joshua AndradeGraphic Designer
Joshua studied Art and Graphic Design at California State University Long Beach. While working on his degree, he also worked as a graphic designer at a local Whole Foods. His passion for art and design stems from his passion for traveling where he experiences many different cultures and design styles. On his spare time Joshua spends most of his time spoiling his Jack Russell Terrier (Chloe), playing board games, and growing his Blu-Ray collection.
Terry ChoiGraphic Designer
Terry has been working as a graphic designer at Graphics and Designs Plus since 2011. Terry acquired her craft through on the job training and self instruction, picking up PhotoShop starting in High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Long Beach. She has expertise with the Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, PhotoShop, and Illustrator, as well as Microsoft Office programs: Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Terry works in depth with online marketing such as social media and email campaigns. In her spare time she enjoys performing on dance teams: hip hop, jazz & lyrical forms.
Gina NguyenBookkeeper
Gina handles all aspects of bookkeeping, accounting and finances with professionalism and dedication. She brings an extensive background in accounting including 20+ years as Senior Accountant and Manager for several companies, including her longest tenure with RE/MAX Beach Cities / RE/MAX Marquee Partners. She most recently held a temporary position with the finance office for the City of Torrance. Gina loves all aspects of accounting and finds a thrill in solving difficult problems. She is very happy to join Graphics and Plus in August 2016, she can be reached to discuss any billing or payment questions. Outside of work her hobbies include line dancing and spending time with her family and friends.
